Tail light circuit feed from alternate location option

Trying to sort some things on the runner since we got it running. I will start a thread this weekend maybe. Working on the wiring a little. Rear window not working, tailight fuse in fuse box burned up.




My headlights are working. Can I just grab the green wire from behind the fuse box and solder on to it and run a new wire to an auxilliary fuse box I will be mounting on the vehicle for audio/other loads?




I want to be sure my window relay is getting power. I can roll the window up and down with 12 volts at the blue wires on the load side of the relay as spelled out in this thread. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/classic-t4rs/142457-rear-window-key-switch.html What color is the wire and guage of the relay feed at the relay? I assume it should be constant hot to work the key switch at the back.



Also have these butchered wires under the drivers seat. Anyone know what these do? Someone tied a large gray onto one as seen.

Is this the correct fuse box diagram for an 88 I stole off yotatech?

That's the right fuse box cover for a first gen.

Thanks KV. I removed the bottom 6mm bolt from the fuse box but it doesn't want to move down. Is the main harness so tight there to inhibit movement or I I missing a clip or bolt in the upper position. I have a fuse box in the wrecked one but lack enthusiasm to try and swap it. Any other G wires I need to look out for. Without seeing the back it will be hard to pinpiont the correct wire standing on my head break dancing under that %&^$ dash! I guess I culd strip into it and ohm from the burned fuse port load side to the wire further out. Where does this harness travel to first to find those wires in a more accessible location?

I just wrestled with mine the other day, there's a flat clip up on top. I think I had to remove the lower dash and the speaker to see it.

The wire harness splits from the back of that fuse panel - some goes through the firewall and pops out between the inner and outer drivers side fenders, most goes across and under the dash to the passenger kickpanel. Some might go straight back towards the body.
