Tailgate window motor problem solved

I don't know if anyone has tried this 'fix' My tailgate motor wasn't raising high enough and was clunking at the top of it's travel, I had a look and there were two problems, the regulator teeth were worn and so was the centre of the drive cog on the motor, so off to see my friendly welding lecturer at the college I work at and he built up the worn area with weld. I then reshaped the teeth having made a cardboard template to work from, I had another motor that looked ok and that worked for a short while, but eventually also gave up, so I replaced the 'original' motor with the worn groove around the middle of the teeth and simply packed it out with washers until he outer edge engaged, it works fine. I can open and close from the console switch inside, but only close from outside, but I'm leaving it that way, if I can't open it from the outside on a key, no-one else can either.
