HEY ALL I NEED SOME INFO. I GOT SOME RUST ON MY TAILGATE AROUND THE WINDOW ON A 95 RUNNER , AND I TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP NEAR MY HOUSE THE GUY THERE TOLD THAT THE RUST DAMAGE WAS TO BAD TO FIX, AND THAT I SHOULD REPLACE THE TAILGATE. OKAY NO PROBLEM THERE. NOW MY QUESTION IS WILL THE T/G FROM A EARLIER 2ND GEN FIT MY 95, AS FAR AS THE WIRING FOR THE WINDOW AND SUCH. I ASK THIS BECAUSE I FOUND ONE WITH THE SWINGOUT TIRE RACK , AND I WANT SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

Check the wiring! should work tho.

Anything from a 90 to 95 4runner will work just fine. You can locate the primary plug if I remember right under the rear bumper other then that just unbolt the hinges and the arms and swap out. Don't worry too much about color nothing a little paint won't resolve.
