Tapping into 12v Cigarette Lighter

I'm looking to replace the cigarette lighter in my 4runner with a voltage meter that has charging capabilities: Voltage Meter. I'm looking to reuse existing wires from the 12v. Has anyone done this?

I know some of you will reference the plug-in, but this is preference for me.

Rather than cutting/splicing wires, see if you can find a connector that plugs into the 4Runner wiring harness. That way your mod is reversible and no damage is done.

There is a Toyota aftermarket kit to install a dual-usb plug there. You can probably find the instructions on line and it will walk you through what panels to remove, what wires to tap, etc.

Any pictures of finished product? What did you use, and how you did it? I have a voltmeter/USB charger on my dash bar and I've considering moving it.
