Taylors 4runner build thread.

The first little snow.

It wasnt even an inch and it was melting away by the time i got out but i wanted to mess around. The most we ever get is around 4 inches. Disappointing, i know haha.

Chopping

After seeing this around i like the look alot better so i got to it. Cut it all with a Dremel, i think it turned out pretty good.
Yea, i know my hood is horrible...i keep putting off getting it painted for some reason.

Well, the mods have slowed down here lately and they may come to a stop for a while. I want another vehicle and have been saving for that. May acquire a 350Z in the months ahead. But ive been doing little things to make it look a bit better i guess.

Well a few weeks ago i sold just my subs and i was still trying to sale my amp but it wasnt working out. My plan was to keep the money for my "Car Fund"....
I got to thinking i have 600 bucks in my wires and amp, maybe more. So with the money i made of the subs and alittle work money, I bought my new subs a week ago.
Got them today and hooked them up, The quality of the new ones verses the 02 L7s is a huge difference.. I cant do with out a little bump so ill keep these

Wow, man i bet those things thump! Haha so tell me, when you say 02 L7s, do you mean they're from 2002? I am still learning about car audio and eventually want to do a clean system in my runner this summer. What kind of amp are u using to power those bad boys?

They vibrate my eye balls on certain notes lol. Yes, they were from 2002 and wore out
but i loved them and strangely miss them lol. A 4runner has alot of possibilities for a good system.
Using a Hifonics 2000 watt class D.

Fixed :frog:

Still saving, I have one more week of highschool and then back to full time working. When I start back, I may just get a loan and get one. I have three ideas in mind for a car. 350z, Foxbody muststank, and a swapped civic. I feel like the 350 is the best choice for what, quick and good on MPG.

id go with the 350, i to graduate soon

I like your 4R. Even the front end paint. Adds character.

I wish I could do my 4-runner up with a 3" lift and 33's, but it just aint happening. It's a want and not a need. Instead it gets struts and 32's. haha.

Not wanting to go into your private life, but to have a rig like that in highschool is pretty sweet. Keep the extra money. Invest it or leave it in the bank. In the future you'll probably be thankful. I put 2 grand into investments when I was 16 at the advice of my father. I was saving for a dirt bike instead.

That 2 grand was almost lost when a uranium truck went into a river, but now, a few (ok, numerous years) later, it's almost 8 grand. Low risk investment so it could have been more, but I could have also spent it on some trivial crap and not have that money. BTW, I also have owned 8 other motorcycles in that time.

You gotta remember vehicles are the worst possible investment you can make. Do a few things to enjoy it, but don't go overboard. Be happy you have a nice 4-runner and enjoy the bad gas mileage. haha.

Probably didn't want a life's lesson, but most highschool students on here have nicer 4-runners then me. I just know any money I put into it might as well be thrown out the sunroof. I will get the enjoyment of having it, but come time to sell it'll have no returns. Sometimes negative returns.

Thanks and I know they are horrible investments and I went overboard on my 4runner in my opinion but i love it and i never plan on selling it, especially knowing every pennie went into it i worked for. Not many kids at my high school can say that. I feel like I could save more buying a car with better MPG than paying 60-70 bucks a week in gas, and now that ill be going into college thats 25 miles away from me will make me end up paying more in gas. Maybe my theory is wrong lol.

I was bored today so i decided to shampoo my carpet and see how good i could get it. It wasnt that bad to begin with except the driver side. The first one is the before of the driver. Most of it came out and the other side is good. Im happy with the outcome.
