TC Shifting Mechanism

Hi All,

I have been chasing my 4Hi issue for some time now and I have narrowed it down to a very specific problem but I need some help.

The basics: 2H, 4L and N work just fine on the TC but the car will not shift into 4H. If I remove the 4H switch that screws into the drivers side of the TC, that when depressed engages 4H, and push the switch with my thumb, 4H works. But if I shift the stick into 4H with the switch screwed into the TC as it should work normally...nothing. So it must be the mechanism that actually depresses the switch within the TC itself.

My question is, does anyone know what the hell that mechanism is? What moves within the transfer case to depress that 4H switch? I can't figure it out anywhere and Toyota has been slightly less than helpful. Thanks for your time!
