2JZTT New member Mar 14, 2010 #2 You want to leave it in 2wd unless you need the 4wd. You should not drive in 4wd on dry pavement too. Good luck with your TE

Uneek Super Moderator Mar 14, 2010 #3 Yes, if it is snowing. On dry pavement, I would stay in 2H. The TE has a part time 4WD system, so if you're making turns on high friction surfaces (in 4H or 4L), you'll get binding in the drivetrain and excessive wear on the tires.
