TE Headlights

I like the headlights of my TE, but i've got a few beefs with it. I have left them on during the day because there is no chime reminding me that I have left them on.

Also it'd be nice if they had an auto on off function. Is there a mod anyone has done for this or is this also a Limited function?

Mine shut off automagically... or just hit the lock button twice on the key fob.

it is a dealer configurable option.

Time elapsed before
headlights automatically
turn off after doors
are closed

default
30 seconds

customized settings
Off
60 seconds
90 seconds

Okay that's cool. I havent messed waited that long to see if they go off.

What goes into the auto/on off feature that the limited has? Probably just adding a sensor? maybe a mod I will do down the road.

Okay, yeah mine don't shut off. Not sure why....I gave it 3 minutes and they are still on.

I am not sure if it is the same in the 5th gen, but did you happen to turn the lights on without turning the key to "on"? If you turn the lights on without turning the key, they will just stay on. To test this, start your truck with the driver's door closed, turn on the lights, turn off the truck, and then see if they go off. If not, then there is something not programmed correctly.

I didnt turn it on, so that may be it. I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks for all the input.
