Teens Driving 4runners

I know a lot of people hate seeing snobby teenage punks driving 4runners. However, does your impression of them change if they have a T4R.ORG sticker on them? Maybe changing your outlook since they have respect for their truck?

let em' drive them! the more sold, the better i blend in... !

Or are you saying they are bad drivers? If so, even better proof of the t4r's safety features when those teens aren't all dying off in fender benders :)
 
im 18 and drive a runner, but then im not a snobby punk...

its those young guys in the trucks that are lifted 4-5" with enormous tires and BUMPING sound systems...THEY are the punks ("bros" as my friend likes to call them...)

i just proudly own/drive my runner like I stole it :D
 
depends...if i know the kid bought his/her own vehicle, as i did, then good for them...but if mommy and daddy buy you a brand new 4runner, of course i think of them as rich and spoiled brats. What ever happened to hard work. Sure wish my parents would hand me stuff like that.
 
Yeah I was just curious, because i'm only 19 and I know a lot of guys on here talk about how much they hate seeing young kids around them. I don't really have a big problem here, seeing as most of them are driven by soccer moms anyways.
 
i'm 31 with a shaved head and a beard,... if anything the kids probably hate what i'm doing to their image,.. LOL!!
 
Either that or they are scared of you. They may think you are a hardcore skinhead who is in a biker gang, and that the 4runner is just your work vehicle. :biggrin2: :cannon:

could be true though. my wife though i was a drug dealer or something when i first met her. I used to be buff as hell back then.
 
I'm 16 and my parents bought mine. I don't play really loud music or annoy anyone, try to race, etc. Hopefully i don't come off as one of those spoiled kids :)
I worked really hard in school for this, all A's etc. I know all the older guys are thinking I should be getting good grades anyway, but it was very nice of my parents to buy me one.
Plus, in my area most people are what most people would consider "rich". Not many 4runners around here.
 
I am about to be 30 and notice I get more respect from other drivers in the Yota. When driving the civic, everyone thinks I am some teenager out to race them everytime, some of the looks I get are priceless.

in my neighborhood kids are driving BMWs, Mercs, Hummer's and Lexus' whom i highly doubt think a T4R is remotely cool, haha.

to answer your question, i wouldn't care one way or the other, but i'd give props to anyone repin' a T4R.
 
Around here, it seems the newer the 4Runner that a kid is driving, the more re****ed and snobby they are. I have actually had kids in 4th gens try to race me at a stop light a few times. It seems to me the kids in the older ones for the most part are the ones who actually bought theirs so they have more respect for them and other people.

I have, though, had a kid in an 02 Limited tell me that he was better than me because I only have an 02 SR5, even though I have the Limited flares and running boards.:confused:

To Josh: I'm 20, bought my 4Runner when I was 19. I've been working since I was 15 (mostly mowing lawns), and I worked for the last two summers, and was able to put down a pretty good down payment, 10k. I now work while I'm in college, and most of my check goes to rent, gas, or my car payment. I love my 4Runner, I really think everyone should be driving them, at least here in CO. I don't drive like a maniac, except when I'm trying to prove my friend wrong about his "amazing" Silverado lifted 5 inches. 4runner rocks him on the snow.

I don't really have a problem with young kids driving 4runners, I know I would, and probably will, put my kids (non-existant at the moment) in older generations of them.

I will however pull over and shoot anyone who drops theirs or puts a huge sound system in...:cannon:
