Tell me what to buy please.

I'm a noob and I do not know much about mechanics.

I want to lift my 2007 4Runner sport 4wd v6. I don't want anything crazy.

I want something similar to this

I'm ok to spend about 600-1000 bucks. What I will be using it for is a couple times a month, I will ride some trails just for fun. I will be getting bigger tires(I don't know what size to get yet). I don't want anything to do crazy off road stuff. Just all for fun. My local guy tried to get me a spacer lift but I told him I really don't want a spacer lift/leveling kit. I know I need to buy front/rear shock absorbers and front springs. Will someone be so kind as to basically tell me what exactly I need to buy? I will buy it and take it to a local shop to have them install it for me. Thank you so much and very sorry if this is the most noobish thing you have ever read.

Revtek 3" front and 2 1/2" rear and replace the front springs with bilstien 5100 ... Amazon = $575 + labor = under $1k easy rides amazing... Great for the occasional romp through the trails and look good on the road ... Deff change out the tires to some 33" and you'll be looking good!

Just buy the kit and bilstien 5100 front lift shocks ... And if the springs are shot buy fj swap springs to give you a little more rise... Look the kit up on Revtek to see what I'm talking about

That is a spacer lift. OP does not want a spacer lift.

The cheapers/best non-spacer lift is a set of Bilstein 5100s and a pair of toytec or fj springs in the rear. The bilsteins have an adjustable perch to give you anywhere from .85 to 1.5 inches of lift.

I know you want to be spoon fed but all the info you need is here. So anything past this post you will need to find your self.

If you want 1-1.5 inches of lift get moog replacement springs for an FJ Cruiser alo g with the bilsteins. That is what I did and here is a link to what that looks like. I am running 276/70/17s.

If you want to go to a 2-3 inch lift you should get toytec springs.

Although there is a thread on here about some cheap ebay ucas that appear to be suitable. So if you go with the big lift, you will need those ucas.

With your budget you may have to look at some spacer lifts to get that lift you want ... The Revtek is what the call hybrid suspension lift, it's not like your normal conventional spacer lift ... Read up on it, I agree with [MENTION=76583]Morphyne[/MENTION] the whole fun in this project is learning your vehicle, and doing projects yourself! Do some research man, and have fun! Gotta start somewhere!
