Temp Gauge Question

My temperature gauge likes to work intermittently. On short trips its usually fine but longer trips, like the 6 hours between school and home, it will quit working. It twitches and jumps around and then will just stop and now in the last week or so it hasn't moved. Anybody have any idea what could be wrong?

That sounds like a problem with the gauge itself, the sending unit wouldn't typically cause a problem like that.

Could also be the wire at the sender or your ground wires to motor.

The gauge sender works off of a ground and heat can make bad wires worse.

Check for brittle wires at grounds and the sender first

Honestly on the v6 I have no idea, never had one. The info has to be on Google somewhere, or repair manual.
