Temp gauge replacement?

Anyone on here replaced just the temp gauge in the cluster? Mine has been on it's way out for a while now, would drop to dead zero and if I flicked the plastic in front of it it would start working again.

Now it's completely dead so looks like I have to replace the gauge itself, anyone done this before?

I haven't replaced it but I have removed it before. It's pretty simple to remove, it's just the electromagnet thing held in with three screws in the back of the cluster.

Getting to it is also pretty straightforward, just getting the needle back in the right place is the hard thing.
