Terrible radio quality (AM/FM) with aftermarket HU

After installing my Kenwood DNX5120 the radio quality has been terrible. I have the JBL system and am using the correct JBL adapter and everything sounds great on the iPod, CD, Bluetooth, etc yet the radio is very poor and gets terrible reception. Is there any work around to restore the radio quality/clarity that is found with the stock HU?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Usually this issue is caused by disconnecting the diversity antenna. The stock HUs have 2 antenna jacks and most people only reconnect the one antenna that fits in whatever aftermarket HU is installed. You can get a Y-connector that allows you to reconnect both antennas into the new HU.
