Purchased January 2014. Everything was stock. 62,000 miles, Shadow Mica, Charcoal interior. First "mod" was technically the T4r.org sticker? Lol.
Since we now have 2 4runners, I'm trying different things with this one than we did with the 04. Excited to have two runners though.

Looks good, I used the same thing on my wheels except that I used several coats of the metallic to make them look an anthracite/gun metal color.

Project complete. They are simply amazing and have the same sparkle the OEM Shadow Mica has in the right sunlight. I tried to pick it up in the first pic. Ultimately, I'm very pleased with the result.

Lift today!

@ the suspension shop getting the Toytec lift put on today! No more rake. A bit nervous about XREAS...but I've got faith they know what's up.

So are you doing complete suspension upgrade or just adding spacers?

Spacers. Keeping XREAS for now. I don't want a lot of height since I'm 5'2" and it's 2wd so not a lot of hard core trails. Just want a small leveling adjustment. Will post the after pictures early next week.

Debadging/Rebadged with Texas Edition

I did this the day before dropping off for the lift but didn't want to get out of order. Debadged (kinda a pain in the butt) all the way up to replacing the emblems for my Texas Edition 4Runner. Tundra and Tacoma will have nothin' on me!

What did you use to get the gunk left from taking off the emblems?

Lots of Elbow grease, goo gone, and a Starbucks gift card as a scraper. Used a hair dryer to get the emblems heated up to pull em off easier. I found that string behind the emblems was just as effective as pulling them off carefully. You'll notice I didn't get all the residue off, but will soon fix that with a wash and wax.

How do you like continentals on them wheels?

I have less than 1k miles driven on them myself and although it's going to be hard to sway me from bfg at ko's as my preferred tire (set on our other 4runner), they were consumer reports top rated? They are quieter than the a/t (duh) have done a little driving in the rain and they've been cool. No real snow in Texas.

LED's behind grille

I spliced in some lighting to DRL's (On/Off), I'm undecided if I like it. I'm leaning towards liking it though. I think it will look cooler when I get my custom emblem.

Chrome Handles

I know I know many don't like the look of chrome, but I like a little bit of contrast. My 10 minute "mod" lol.

I've used this 3M adhesive remover in the can to de-badge my vehicles:

All you have to do is soak a spot on a rag (be generous with it) and blot the left over adhesive with it. Let it sit for 1-2mins. and use a rag / shop towel and rub it off...you can even use your finger to rub it off but you definitely don't need to use any type of card to scrap it off like you do w/ goo-gone. Goo-gone is childs play compared to this stuff, and the 3M is completely safe on your paint.
