Thanks careless driver, goodbye 4runner...

Thanks everyone, it's appreciated. This is a great community and I hope to rejoin the ranks in the future!

Glad you're alright!

Dang, did your roof rack slide forward??

Yeah, the stops broke off and it slid in the rails almost all the way off!

rbgerrish Although I don't know you, this honestly upsets me. Seeing those photos brings sadness to me, not joking. It's great to hear that all parties involved were okay; nonetheless, sorry to see this unfortunate event go down the way it did. I hope you're able to find another 3rd gen if you decide to seek out that route again.

It's sad, it was a good truck with 140k... Thanks for the well wishes!

Bummer to see this. Glad everyone managed to come out unscathed, for the most part. Take a bunch of ibuprofen, cus you'll feel it tomorrow for sure. Good luck with the insurance process and all that jazz.

Glad you're alright!

Wow, well, we're definitely airbag compliant!

Sucks that it happened like that, but IMO, it saved it from a lot more damage. How fast we're you going?

I was goin 45 mph and they probably drove into me at 15.

I'm very thankful for your Hybrid Bumper! I cant help but think that if it had just been stock, the various components would have shifted back into my area more substantially. The bumper and extra cross member SERIOUSLY re directed the blow through the chassis and into their van. Airbags deployed perfectly!

Awe man! [emoji25]
I know they've switched a lot of those yellow blinkers back to non-blinkers because of this.
I honestly don't understand how this happens. Even if the light WAS GREEN- don't you still say to yourself "gee, looks like that there fella ain't slowin down!"?! I live out in Sandy, and there was so many life flight accidents on yellow blinkers between here and Gresham, they switched them back. I don't know how people are so dumb and oblivious.
I'm really sorry about your 4Runner. I don't think the damage would have been much worse without the bumper, myself, but that doesn't really matter. Bums me out to see a low mile 'runner get wrecked, but I'm glad you're okay.

So, are the wheels and tires for sale now?? I kid, I kid.

It's good to see that no one was seriously injured. That's all that really matters. The truck can be replaced

Glad to hear that everyone walked away. It's never fun dealing with a wreck, but rest assured, one of the nice things about a 3rd gen is its resale values! With that in hand, the PNW pricing is on the high end. I suspect that you should be able to find another nice rig to work on fairly soon! I hope your insurance company takes care of you.

I'm not bashful, once insurance totals it, if you wanna buy it back for cheap and sell it for some profit. I am local enough, I have a diesel and a trailer, PM me and I'll be down same day to take it if you want to help out the 4runner community.

Glad you're ok, I totaled a 2015 Tacoma a couple years back. Next few days are sorta nerve wracking to drive around.

Perhaps! It depends on what the buyback is.

What exactly is a Canadian edition?

The Canadian edition, aside from having square wheels and being exceedingly friendly, has DRL's, Speedo in KPH and Climate information in Celcius. :)

Thanks everyone!

Man, this sucks! Glad your alright. Hope another Runner is in the future. I paid $900 for my buyback and made out really well in a partout. It is a lot of work though. I'd say if the buyback is less than what I got, you should buy it back. Those rims and tires should be worth at least $500.

LOL at all the vultures scheming for parts already. Jeez the engine's not even cold yet but umh.. ehh... you don't have an oak interior do you?:hiding: JK

Bunch O buzzards the lot of ya!! ( what ya got left? )

First and foremost is call your insurance and get that lawyer ready!!
Get,Got,Find an appraisal and all your receipts and work orders etc.
Look for a few comparable 4rnr's and $$$ value.

The day will come when her insurance will offer you 1/4 or less for your "old truck"

Wow Glad to hear you made it out safe!! Looks like it was a hell of a hit! Make sure to ice, stretch and heat your back and neck for the next few weeks!
rbgerrishIf you end up wanting another 4Runner, I know I did after mine was wrecked, I just found this really clean looking one not too far from your neck of the woods:

Yeah, they have almost completely phased out left turn yields here in California. They used to be common but most are gone, except in some smaller downtown areas. Nowadays people don't know how to drive with them. They just see green/yellow and go.
