just want to say thanks to all who have answered my questions and to bigtime i believe who ran some car faxes for me, ( i have extra car faxes now if anyone needs some 4 left ) i found my runner now lets hope its all good from here on out and i cant wait to start personalizing it

what a nice truck looks even better than the limited.... a few questions... is 98?. why this runner had leather seats? if my 4runner sr5 looks loke yours I must not put that limited fender flares. :) congrats man!!! btw if a car fax is to know where youre car had been and accidents and so I NEED ONE CAR FAX.. :) cause i doesnt know nothing about her :(

yes its a 98 sr5 4x4 no pwr seats or Rear diff lock but it does have factory alarm, a 12v socket in the trunk. tow hitch but he said he never towed with it his wife wouldn't let him(for what its worth). Has all records 2 owner car, oil changes every 3k most times just before according to the records. Timing belt and water pump done at 183k. All fluids flushed every year trans, diffs, radiator, etc... it has 243k on her i know alot, but given the history, cleanliest of it and the guy i feel pretty good about it. I wanted something to do tonight but i cant even clean its already clean.

what it does need is front rotors it shimmys when braking, i checked out the ball joints and even jacked up before purchase to check wheel bearings and all checks out so i how its the rotors being warped if not maybe just he tires out of balance.

the only things on the list right now are rotors tomorrow and to black out the gold emblems oh and take it on a road trip this weekend to register it 1000k round trip.

If it only shimmys when braking, it's most likely the rotors. Bearings or an out-of-balance tire will shimmy without the brakes on too.

Nice buy dude! That's super clean and in really good condition for having 243k miles on it. I hope it runs as good as it looks. I've got a 98' SR5 as well and love it! Definitely should put clear corners on the bumper and side lenses. Enjoy!
 
Nice truck man! You basically just bought exactly what I have (though mine only has 120k miles). Everything on the exterior and interior are exactly the same, with the lone exception being that my emblems are silver. Probably looking to do alot of mods on mine this summer so we'll see how that goes
 
Looks great Salvaged! Considering it has been taken such good care of, it will probably last a long time.

I Hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine!

Damn, that's some serious pm'ing. Even I couldn't compete with that and I'm pretty much neurotic! Very impressive
 
Good news, threw some new rotors on and shimmy is gone. However those tires on there do make some road noise. Should be fun on my 500 mile trek for it's maiden voyage.

i put some michellin tires 265/75 r16 and i felt the same; the pavement road sounds more like sticky rubber, maybe its normal, but you didnt anwer why your seats have leather? if its sr5... i think that more than 300 000 miles are not important in a toyota
