Thanks Obama!

I seriously don't think America would be any better than we are with McCain in place and like the Republicans always cried about the Bush bashing,it's not simply about one man.

I'm sure McCain would be spending our taxes for parties too but I doubt any republican would be saying a word about it. Republicans and Dems simply aren't that different as we try to paint them;all politicians have the bad and the good and you can't please all the people all the time.

I voted for Obama (I think that's obvious) but it doesn't mean that if McCain had won that I wouldn't be hopeful that he could turn this country around. I just don't think he would have been able to do it better than Obama hopefully will. I just fail to realize how people thought Sarah Palin would be anything but the worst VP in presidential history but that's another argument for another thread.

x2. i'm pretty sure i'm the only person i know out of my family and friends to vote for Obama. being from Alabama i actually had some friends mad at me that i would even vote for him. Actually I think the McCain ticket could have been alot stronger with someone like Mitt Romney as his VP, someone who actually KNOWS alot about the economy. IF Obama fails i hope for a Romney ticket over a Palin on the republican side.

But, RonM, YOU were one of the BIGGEST critic of Bush himself!! You blame Bush for every damn thing wrong during the election debate we had! For you, it was indeed ONE man...no matter what I (and many others) said....

I must admit...this past election unfortunately showed how gullible Americans are.... :(

Again, it is better to have a weak VP than to have a weak President, would you not agree??

I criticized Bush as an administration but he did flat allow Cheney and Rumsfeld to control thhings ovewr him because he didn't have the balls to say otherwise and he did have final say.

Actually this is my last post since I find these threads to generally stir bad feelings up and I'll chat up politics in 3 years since just watching Obama haters whine gets a bit old. :biggrin2:

I would like to know how you think McCain would be doing so much better at this point. It's simply something we can't know and Obama is in office so we have to ride out whatever happens just like we did with Bush and now Obama is left cleaning trying to clean things up.

I'm simply burned out on politics for a while so have a nice day.

Someone has been watching too many movies.... :D

Hmm, based on what Obama has done, the next President may face a more daunting task....

Obama was basically put into the pilot's seat of a 747 with an engine fire plunging straight into the Rockies. Not a great way to start. He's in a no win situation right now trying to pull back on the stick and get the nose back up. Ultimately, he's in a no-win situation.

If he makes radical policies changes he'll alienate all Republicans and Moderate Democrats. If he makes moderate policies changes (what I believe he's doing now) he'll upset the left-most Democrats and most Republicans. If makes very few changes he'll be critiqued for not following through with campaign promises and appease some Republicans but alienate most Democrats.

I think he's doing the best he can given the situation he's in. You can't turn a battleship around on a dime.
Give the guy a chance. Honestly I think McCain is a good guy too but most likely we would be in the same situation. I think the real culprits here are those in the financial industry who profited from de-regulation at the expense of financial mess were in now.

As an Obama supporter and likely liberal, I'm sure you would feel this way. Problem with McCain is that he really isn't all that conservative. Everyone tried to paint him as being just like Bush during this election and he really isn't. McCain didn't have the support from the conservatives so they brought Palin on board who is ultra-conservative, to try and win over the conservatives that weren't all for McCain. For someone like myself Palin was great choice because she stands for a lot of the issues that I, and other conservatives, feel strongly about. Plus, is she any less experienced than they actual President.

Obama got elected because he is black and he was the furthest thing from Bush. I'm not rooting for him to necessarily fail, but if he succeeds this country will be more socialist then ever before.

McCain was simply too old. At his recent appearances, he looks tired and is starting to sound a little crazy.

I find it interesting you dont think McCain is weak. He campaign was horrible. If he were to run this country as he ran his campaign, we would really be in alot of trouble.

at least McCain was man enough, to stand up for his country, what did obama do ??? other than hide and get high ?

i hate when people bring that up. just because you served in the military dosen't make you a qualified leader of the US. Yes McCain was a great person, and a war hero, but there has been many soldiers like that. and i think its funny someone from Arizona even said he looked old and tired. Not saying his age was a bad thing though. Age is just as bad as judging a candidate by race.

that may be true, but obama has NO idea what means to wear a uniform, to stand a post, to DEFEND this country, let alone lead the people that do.. he will never know what its like sending more kids into harms way, what the hell does he care, its NOT his kids.
Im not judgeing him on his race, Im judgeing him on his LACK of proof of citizenship, lack of experiance, lack of service, Ive said this before, America will be sorry, and people are starting to see it, but what do I know, lol

but even as a supporter of him i do get your points your making about the war thing.

that birth cert. is fake. and has been talked about lots, in the 60s, the term "african" wasnt used...

Look at Stanley Ann Dunham's race: Caucasian.

Now look at Barack Hussein Obama Sr's race. It is listed as African.
That doesn't seem all that interesting until one realizes that this is an official document allegedly filed back in August 1961.

Up until 1968, the standard term for all Africans was "negro". This fit with the absolute secular scientific teaching of the day which notes the world has three races: Mongolian, Caucasian and Negro. It was not until the Black Revolution in the late 1960s that "negro" became a foul word and then "black" was demanded by negroes to describe them. It was not until the 1980's when political correctness came into vogue that the term, "African" or "African-American", was used to describe all blacks.

To be honest, i don't question Obama's citizenship. You would think that the CIA, FBI, NSA, etc. have ran detailed background checks on Obama and probably every other politician in office. You would think that something like that would have been checked out long time ago.

not really, Im sure hes paid people off.. think about it, WHY cant he provide a $12 birth cert. ? Im sure there was a backround check ran on him but Im also sure, sometings were "overlooked"
Why wont the Surpreme court hear cases brought up regaurding his citizenship ? someone is paying someon off.

Agreed. I have a friend who was recruited for a financial analyst position with one of the Federal branches and even a job of that nature requires an extensive background check going back 10 years. They literally go and talk to friends, teachers, & neighbors to establish credibility. I'm sure the screening process for Commander in Chief is a bit more rigorous/thorough.
