Don't know what I would do without this site. Maintenance light came on at 5000 miles on my 2006 Sport. Owners manual tells you what the light means but not how to turn it off! Thanks to this site I didn't have to ride around looking at it all weekend until the dealer opened on Monday. Thanks again.

Contact sharp4runr -- He will supply you with the link that shows you how to do it. It involves turning on the key, pressing the odometer reset button and one other step.

I had to do it on my '05 and it worked like a charm!

it's in the manual:

hold the reset button when you fire up your 4runner. hold it down for a good 5 - 10 sec and it'll flash a few times and turn off permanently until the next 5k.
