The 10 mile drive in 4WD every month question

Ok, so after reading the thread about using the 4WD system on dry pavement- through, I went back to my owner's manual to see what it says about full time 4WD systems on the Limited models.

While the manual says clearly that driving 10 miles in 4wd every month is required for the SR5 and trail models with the part time 4WD, it does not mention this at all under the full time 4wd model description.

Does this mean that driving 10 miles every month in 4wd to keep things lubricated ONLY APPLY TO SR5s and TRAILS and not LIMITED models?

Specifically, it says "This will assure that the front drive components are lubricated" so, no, not necessary in the Limited, though it would be wise to exercise the low range and diff lock actuators from time to time.

You pretty much answered your own question - limited are "full-time 4WD" so they are always driven in 4wd and always being lubed. Ditto on what JB said.

Toyota is starting to surprise me

part-time 4wd should not be engaged on dry pavement and what if a person lives in a hot area?

So one should look for a straight 10mile road and engage 4wd just to be safe, WTF.
