What is the appropriate hand gesturebwhen passing a fellow 4runner owner? I try to wave at everyone i see but never get the reciprocity.

Typically, if waved to...I use all my fingers when I wave back. :hello:

I've only experienced this kind of thing when I had a Jeep Wrangler. I don't think 4runner folks in general are so enthusiastic.

This thread reminds me of the Harley forum I used to be a member of. What's with the obligation to acknowledge that somebody else purchased the same vehicle you have as if it's some sort of brotherhood?

Where I'm from, it's fairly common for people to wave to each other whether we are driving the same vehicle or not or even if we specifically know each other or not. But nobody has ever gotten together and decided how many fingers to use or what angle your arm should be.

I get waves from other toyota enthusiasts, but dont get waves from people who "just drive a toyota"

Well I have started flashing a subtle 4 fingers to every 4Runner I see. So if a lifted Shadow Mica waves it is most likely me, unless it catches on......then it may not be me
