Any reason why you didn't replace it with the V8? As a 5th gen driver I am infinitely envious of those 4.7L's....

No real reason to, I don't tow anything. I had driven both engines and I like them both. The V8's are just geared lower and have a more "solid" feel, but overall I was just looking to replace it with a solid 4runner and I would have taken either engine.
