The Chinese Special TRD Grille... on the cheap!

Just curious how everyones grill and letters are holding up? Is the tape that comes with it really good, or shouls it be changed out with better tape? Especially with temperature swings. In colorado it gets to like -10 sometimes in the winter, and in the summer can get >100.

Anyone have issues with the grill or letters coming loose? Is the tape that comes on it pretty high quality?

Ordered mine on black friday and just trying to make sure i have everything ready for proper install.

Been holding strong. Use carwash at work for past 6 months and hasn't fell off yet

Anyone try the Runnin 4 Tacos version yet? It comes with the lettering already mounted and looks to be pretty sturdy.

I know the gaps on the edge are common but pretty disappointing how much of a gap I have on mine.

It seems the cover doesn't have enough "bend" to it to match the profile of the panel it's covering. The middle hits before the edges do, causing it to stick out more on the edge, and increasing that gap.

I warmed it up pretty good with my heat gun before installing it, but still left with big gaps. I might try and uninstall this summer and reinstall after letting it sit out in the sun for a few hours to see if that helps. Other than that, any other tips for reducing the gap?

I'm considering also maybe putting some small strips of matte black vinyl on the edges of the body behind the grill so the gap is less noticeable.

Do not buy from Cartrimhome. All they do is rip off US fabricator designs and sell subpar knockoff parts.

Case and point. They recently listed a GOBI rack knock off. Then today I notice this. Molle side panels. Notice anything familiar about this design, or the “R” laser cut into the metal? Yeah, they ripped off the photos from Rago’s website.

I don’t care whatever discount they offer, cartrimhome will not get a dime from me.

Generally how long does it take Cartrimhome to ship?

I ordered the grill on Fri 11/29 because of the black friday deal. I haven't heard from them since.

I emailed them and they were responsive. They said they must have forgotten to put the letters in. They said they will ship a set out, but the bad news is that they said they are out of local stock due to their sale etc, so it will take 8-18 days to ship here. The grill and garnish itself looks great though, so I guess if I have to wait, it is what it is.

Keep us posted. As I mentioned in DM, this is the first time I’ve seen an order not ship with letters. It sucks that you have to wait, for sure. When it comes to grills, they’re almost always on top of it for sure. I’ve helped a ton of people get their grills without any issue at all.

I never recieved a shipping confirmation but surprisingly it showed up today. It came from from a California warehouse and took 3 business.

I put the grill and letters on my wife's Limited and it fell off in the car wash. I bought a thick roll of 3M double-sided tape and it's held perfectly. I also used the thick 3M tape when I installed the grill on my SR5 and it's held strong with no issues. I'd advise upgrading tape for your install.

Grille came in today from Running4Tacos, looks great and all the trim pieces lined up perfectly. Gap on each side is about 1/8th of an inch. Take your time and perform multiple test runs before committing. I heated the edges of the grille and bumper after install with a cheap harbor freight heat gun while pressing down on each corner to make everything as tight as possible.

off topic but has anybody else bought anything else off the cartrim website. I see some floor mats, trd pro emblems, carbon fiber mirror covers, led lights for interior, rood rack with ladder, and etc? lol
