off topic but has anybody else bought anything else off the cartrim website. I see some floor mats, trd pro emblems, carbon fiber mirror covers, led lights for interior, rood rack with ladder, and etc? lol

I’ve ordered the grille, led grille lights, emblem blackout covers, and some black TRD emblems. Everything has been fine. No issues. I find them to be very good with customer service. When I ordered the grille it came within a week. When I ordered the emblems it took 18 days because it got held and returned from customs twice. They kept me in the loop of what was going on and assured me I would receive it.

I ordered the kit with 4 lights and a switch to turn them on/off. I got the grill and cover but they sent the lights and switch separately and tracking shows that box hasn't even left China yet. So I installed the grill and cover today with no issues. I already dig the new look. Can't wait to get the lights though!

Cartrim is good to go. Ive had good results from everything that I’ve ordered. Grill/Front conversion with lights, blackout emblems and interior LED. Customer service is responsive when you have an issue.

My letters had some flashing that i had to trim with a utility knife. If the flashing was left on the letters would not sit flush.

The mid section piece where the TOYOTA letters are stuck on, is sort of wavy on top. Should I use a heat gun while installing it?

1) The double sided tape that Cartrimhome puts on the garnish doesn’t hold very well. I had to use my own 3M VHB tape.

2) The edges of the garnish were lifting and would not sit flush. I had to use a heat gun to shape and bend it until it sat flush. I also added more VHB tape on the edges.

3) The top middle of the garnish was dipped in. I had to use 5 layers of VHB tape in the middle to shim it flat.

4) I got 1/4” gap on each side. That seems to be what everyone is getting.

How long did you heat it for? Installed mine for the second time yesterday and still cant get the ends to contour to the stock profile. "Good enough" its not.

I heated for like 3 minutes then pressed firmly. I checked today and it’s still ok.

Got My letters in finally just after Christmas and applied them. Just put the grill on tonight. The adhesive all seems to stick fine as long as you clean the surfaces properly. ABS releases some oils, so I wiped the letter area twice with 91% isopropyl alcohol, let it dry, then applied them inside the house at room temp. The letters seem to be on pretty good.

As for the grill, it is straight forward and fits and looks like OEM.

The trim looks fine for the price, and to get it to look good, it will take some heating with a heat gun and pressing it to contour a bit, while lifting the top section just prior to peeling back the tape for the top. once you lay the top down, it hols it in place and I kept holding till cool.

This does leave a small dip on the top section where the emblem was because of the bending, but the front looks great and the edges are minimally lifted from the OEM trim.

I would say you can get it to look 85-90% as well as OEM with a heat gun and some patience.

Overall, for the price I am very happy. The grill seems fine, and if the trim comes off, I will go OEM at that point. Until then I am pretty happy with the results.
