I heard back on the 15th that the Rona severely disrupted their factory and they’re still working on bouncing back. They did not have an ETA for free shipping.

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take for the items to arrive? I've ordered some simple badges and received shipping info but there hasn't been an update since 7/12? Anyone experience this from cartrim? I know they're coming from China but maaaaaan...

So, generally it’s about 7-12 days. CT is good about shipping items out within a business day but the biggest hold up is always customs. I do know the Rona has severely impacted freight times across the board so if I had to guess, probably closer to the latter range. That’s purely speculation - I’m no expert on the matter.
If you put your tracking number into google and go to tracking history, it should show you where it is. I forget the location for customs but it can be delayed there for a while. It’s outside the control of CT, unfortunately. I know they’re going to try and restock their US warehouses to speed things up but that’s probably 3-4 months out.

Yeah, I’ve facilitated the expediting of a lot of orders (200+) and have a good working relationship with them. I’ve coached them through poor experiences and how to make things better. There have definitely been ups and downs.
I don’t personally have that steering wheel, so I cannot speak to how it is, unfortunately! I can get 5% off any 4Runner item so if you decide you want it, shoot me a DM.

You forget that quite a few people here struggle with simple bulb changes.1. $114 for the 2014-2019 grille upper and garnish
2. Cheapie dremel: (Or a good one if you’re doing other jobs like bumper or fender liner trims)
3. Masking tape: to guide where to cut AND align the lettering in the dimples
4. Heat gun or blow dryer: to heat up the 3M strips and bumper where the garnish will adhere
5. Remove the 2020 grill bracket altogether: this IMO provides no structural support and the push tabs will suffice
6. Save hundreds of dollars.

Oh I already got them, just relaying how long my order took. I ordered them in early May and received them in early July. I was surprised at how long they took but not upset because I know how crazy everything is right now.

Thanks for the offer. Can I ask.. the TOYOTA letters on the grille insert, are the backs completely stickered or are there bald spots you need to fill in? Are the letters clean of scratches and marks (some cheaper ones apparently have less tape on the backs, and the letters come somewhat marred)? Do you recommend repainting the letters and black portion when you receive this product?

I’ve had my grill from CT for a long while now, so I’m not sure how well taped they come anymore. If I recall correctly, there was a good amount on the back already. I painted my letters matte black before installing because I wanted them to match my lower valence. Back then, they only sold silver letters but I think they now offer a black version as well, but I’m not sure if they’re glossy or matte.

Damn it. I literally read over 60 pages prior and didn’t see the black letters until you posted a photo. I wish I ordered those. Damn it

I live in Texas so my rig is parked in the garage 24/7. No fading of any kind. If you’re going to paint anything, I’d say just paint the letters and nothing else. Someone tried to paint the actual piece that the letters go on and if I remember correctly, caused themselves a major headache. I don’t know of anyone having any sort of fading issues - just let it be.
Oh, and you can buy just the letters (in black now too). I have two sets of backups already painted matte black and ready to go in the event I need to replace one.
