I've never really wanted to get a snorkel myself. Bit too much body mutilation and 99.99% of the time look like nothing more than attention getting decoration but...

I have found myself in a situation where crossing a river was the difference between me making it back to the highway or having to turn back and spend 6 hours retracing a trail to get back to civilization...

I would really like to have a bit more confidence that crossing a 12 in deep ford with an uneaven bottom and against the current isn't going to have such a good chance of sucking water :/

Glad to hear your engine came out ok.

I hydro-locked my 95 Blazer and they had to take the plugs out to squirt the water out. Got another 60K miles with no issues before trading it in for my first 4Runner in 2004.

Regardless of what the oil looks like I would change that and at least the front diff too. Very little cost for a bit more insurance long term.

May I suggest a snorkle after your lift!

Change it anyhow! Water had time to sink to the bottom of your oil pan so looking at what's on the dipstick tells you nothing.

Hell a total fluid change couldn't hurt, probably needs it anyhow lol

change your oil asap or change your engine. you already got lucky and now you trying to save $30bucks on some oil smh

I'd change the oil. $30 and 20 minutes of time is cheap insurance in my book. Glad it worked out! I am sure you breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

Thanks brother. The plan is to get it done this Saturday at the auto skills center. That along with other maintenance items. If your down to travel up to cherry point I would love the help.

Bearing's don't like water. If it sounds good now, you want to maintain that right? Change it.
