You can get either engine in all the trim levels bud...
Can I vote we stop with the Bud's and the Bro's... and especially brah. If you use that, you should be banned.
Because, news flash....no one you say that to at ANYTIME other than a in person friend, thinks that it is anything other than either rude or arrogant.
I have never in my entire life refereed to anyone as either of the above mentioned 3 phrases. I have come to know that there appear to be a few geographic locations where it is apparently appropriate terms... but this is the internet and most of us consider those phrases *******...
So. Stop.

I believe you're the one acting "high school" for being so bent out of shape over a single word.
To add fuel to the fire I just took a 100 mile round trip driving 5mph on rural county highways and my DIC showed 25.1mpg average for the trip. I didn't really care enough to figure out how many gallons I actually used, just noticed the read out.
I can usually see how someone who only uses the DIC readout can think their 4Runner can achieve 20+mpg.

FWIW: my 2003 V8 4wd, in very good shape, with stock suspension and somewhat more AT-ish than stock tires (Yokohama Geolandar-something), using 89 gas, gets about 19.9 mpg on the highway, with A/C on, assuming it's a relatively level and smooth road, and I keep it within the 70-75 mph band.
The key to getting halfway decent mileage with a V8 is to keep your foot out of it and minimize the number of times you're asking the tranny to downshift. The motor is more than happy to go go go, but you can practically watch the fuel gauge go down if you allow it to!
Around town is a total yard sale -- seldom any better than 15 mpg.
(Above figures based on actual odometer & fuel pump measurements, not the jauntily optimistic dash readout)
