Sorry to be off topic as well, but I came from a CRV too. A 2006 EX w/ 5spd M/T and AWD. I was on hondasuv.com & crvownersclub.com. It was a great little car, but it was time for something different for us...
I guess I'm trying to play the devils advocate since we are only seeing one side of the story and most people here seem to be siding with the dad, ie the only side of the story heard(other than her rant).
You have to let off steam some how. I think if telling your friends how you feel with a few cuss words is your way, instead of shooting up a school or killing your parents, then go for it. She didn't intend for them to read or hear it like John said. Everyone says things they don't mean at one point or another. And she didn't say it to their face so she clearly has some respect for them. She is also 15 so she's a kid and is obviously not the smartest kid but sounds like she has a damn good understanding of what responsibility is for someone her age.

I get what you're saying. When I worked, it was back a few years while I was going to college part time. I didn't want to finish all of my general ed courses and be forced to pick a major when I wasn't even sure what I wanted to do yet. I see way too many kids graduate college these days with a degree that is irrelevant that they will never use. I swore to myself I wouldn't make the same mistake. That I would take my time and figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

So, just because she did not shoot and kill anyone, then it is perfectly OK to cuss your parents out and write lies about them for everyone (except your parents) to see??? Sorry, that is UNACCEPTABLE in my honest opinion. THAT is NOT showing respect, regardless if it was meant for your parents' ears or not!! Maybe it is in your world or family, but it certainly is NOT in my world/family. My parents did not wait till i kill someone before they act. Doing so would be irresponsible and downright stupid for a parent.

In fact, my mother use to say...raising a kid is like growing a tree from a seed. Along the way, the tree would grow branches sideways. Your job, as a parent, is to trim the branches so that the tree can grow straight up and strong. I sincerely believe in that "theory".

I'm not going to repost each thing and go through my feelings on it but I think you are right. I said it before too, I am not a parent so I only know one side of it. I respect the hell out of my parents and have said one cuss word (sh!t) on the phone with my mother, by accident, because I witnessed a deadly accident. Other than that, they have NEVER heard a fowl word from my mouth. The thing she said about them getting old: I agree, COMPLETELY out of line and inappropriate. I'm losing track of the points I am arguing, but the main idea for me is that I am unhappy with his reaction. Then again, you can't exactly whoop a 15 year old girl like you can a 15 year old boy so maybe he didn't know what else to do. I just think there were other options.

The guy is a moron for putting on YouTube. He's *****ing and moaning that the daughter, who is wrong, too, went on Facebook basically complaining about being a teenager who has a typical life. Yet here he is, *****ing to YouTube, telling the world everything like she did.
She should have kept it more private but hey, I can admit at 16 I felt like a slave too! All the crap that happens to you at that age finally calmed now, but point is I can understand her side.

I agree!! I am a new stepfather of an 8 year old, of which his birth father teaches him things that a 15 yr old shouldn't be saying or doing. Its just awful, people need to stand up for their kids and take care of things.
This topic just like many many others on here, all being focused on more negative than positive. Why? because it is easier to talk bad or go negative with anything.
1. Dad at least is trying to raise her right. Did he do it your way? Probably not, but he is making a statement and proving he is dead serious, he didn't just send her to time out, or take the credit card away. He is being a FATHER!!
2. She complained about them, we all complain about parents especially at that age. I don't believe she respects them much at all, yes she said all that behind their backs, THROUGH FACEBOOK, which i guarantee has caused more problems through time for her anyway. He is controlling her decisions and ability to be in cyber space, which is a good thing.
3. The fathers best Software/hardware for a 15yr old vulnerable daughter was his .45 rounds going through the laptop.
4. To me bottom line is: This guy is trying to raise a respectful daughter, he didn't raise her like you would have or punish her the same way. But hey there is no manual on it. He could have ignored it like half of the world, let her keep running her yap and then the parents would be the ones who end up looking bad. Or she could just keep posting bad things and get in more trouble.
Everyone, please stop just thinking on the negative side with this guy. At least he is doing something about it.
