Ive got the same as u, no limited so prolly a lil lighter, I unfortunately have done no maint other than oil and air filter, and before i put the 33's on i got 18-19 avg

if you dont like what i have to say then dont read it...and why do you keep coming back if youre gonna complain about it...and i listened to everyone who gave me suggestions on the last thread i did..i have done everything! i wanted to see if anyone had any new ideas or something...and im not looking to get the mileage of a f**cking hybrid..im trying to get the mileage i USE to get back...going from 370 miles to 270 miles is a big deal..and alot more money spent on gas in a week..you would be as frustrated as i am too..i do not drive it hard..its a f**cking 4runner. You have some balls to say i didnt listen to anyone....do you really expect me to believe that winter gas and not driving like a f**cking 80 year old woman is gonna cause my truck to lose 100 miles in gas mileage..i have a family of mechanics so i know what im talking about...i reposted the same problem to see if anyone had found a different solution besides what i did and what everyone told me...and the only reason why im posting this is because i dont want you people thinking im some newbe douche bag or a "drama queen"..that being said..you three or four who talked sh!t...go eat sh!t..Thanks!

focusing on your problem, since you seem like you are out of many other options, i would take it to your local Toyota dealer to get it fully inspected. the same inspection they would give it if you bring a vehicle to them you are looking to buy. it will set you back 100 bucks or so but they would probably find whatever is causing it. despite any problems going on here between people, im sure most can agree this guy has a problem with his truck if what he is saying about conditions, driving habits, etc. are true. these inspections check EVERYTHING and it is a good option if you are completely out of ideas of what it could be. when you take it, it might be better to not mention your gas mileage issue so they dont think what people on here have already told you to do. if you do take it, post up what they found. im sure most of us would be curious to see if there is a problem.

Why are you helping him? It's blatantly obvious he's much smarter than all of us and knows more about 4runners and his gas mileage situation. Now he's going to go to the dealer and be a complete ass to some poor service writer for no good reason......

anyone think a cracked exh. manifold would lead to worse mpg? i have the infamous ticking on my v8, and the code is saying bank 2 is the problem, even though i just replaced the rear right o2 sensor. Would it throw this code if the manifold is crapped out?

minor glitch, by minor I mean effect, not repair bill!
At best, no impact; and at worst, negative impact. The engine is not designed to run 40 weight. The winter rating (0 or 5) is only relevant the first 1 - 2 minutes or so it takes the oil to warm up. That rating has no practical impact on MPG.
Actually here in the North East when temps drop below 0..it takes a LOT longer then 2 minutes to warm the oil up.
The higher number will have more of a impact on gas mileage then the lower number. So 0w-40 may actually give you WORSE gas mileage then 5w-30. Most of the time manufacturers are recommending 5w-30 over 5w-40 is so they can meet the Cafe' numbers. Both will work..but the 5w-30 should yield better gas mileage...although not much....But manufacturers are trying to squeeze every .5mpg...this is a cheap way to do it.
