Cost difference?
I'll look into it and get back to you in the AM!
Playing around the other day and made a few new things. Any interest in 304 stainless steel crossbars and roof racks?

I have steel 3/4 on order, I can hardly wait...
:reddance:
gdvan01 I think I saw that the 3/4s are shipping today!Just waiting on the next batch of crossbars to come back from powder. We spent the last couple days just boxing up side rail pairs so we'd be ready when the crossbars come back!
I just sent an email about weight differences between steel and aluminum, but these look great. I'd be interested as well pending price.
The aluminum are 2 lbs even. The steel ones are 4.7 lbs. I weighed them myself as I have both.
2 lbs is awesome but it is for those who don't want a rooftop tent. I doubt the aluminum ones would be strong enough.
I have a high lift Jack for mine and will be putting two Rotopax and Maxtrax on top, probably a shovel too.
.
Aluminum actually are fine for a RTT. They are more susceptible to deflecting with weight if you don't position them under the RTT properly though, which is why we typically recommend using steel for RTTs.
Thanks for the info. Any word yet on the stainless bars you all ran through? I'm going to get an order together in the next week or two.
Spotted this 7/8ths rack at The Rim in San Antonio yesterday...
