The LFD Off Road Thread

I'm thinking the same rocks someday so I can defeat that trail, but hopefully nothing bigger (until I get stupid and do it)

We plan on being down there for Overland Challenge (if it happens at the new date), and would be more than happy to make that drive back down whenever you're planning on heading back... Better to be assisted off of a rock by another 4Runner than a Jeep :P

Plus I need to restock on beer from down there, which means I should probably pick up something new from LFD_Off_Road

I have a front skid on my 4th gen from you guys and wondering if you sell the mid skid separate from the package. Sent an email but haven’t heard back yet.

Do tell...find something good?

Not to detract from the thread too far, but jafrush turned us on to King Canary Brewing in Mooresville when I went down to grab my rear bumper, which allowed us to come home with a few crowlers... and then get a few more crowlers when we were back down there for the LFD/Apex/Overland Experts trail ride

Got the skids put on this weekend. Love the nice flush look with the C4 bumper!

Switched from double stacked setup to a single stack set up with my XBull traction boards on my 3/4 rack from LFD. Did this to offset the slight height clearance change from switching to 285
from 275 tires. Used parts: (4) 3” stainless steel 3/8 carriage bolts/washers/nuts, aluminum bushings and knobs from McMaster-McCarr.

Just a heads up, I used a similar setup with a stainless carriage bolt to mount mine unfortunately there was some galling (common issue with stainless bolts) and the nut locked up and when I tried to remove the nut the carriage bolt itself spun in the track and I had to remove the crossbar and grind away the rounded head of the carriage bolt to remove.

I'm back to just using a regular bolt instead of a carriage bolt so worst case I can force the nut off if I need to

Wonder if anti-seize would prevent that? I also am using rubber washers (2 per bolt), one between the carriage bolt head and the underside of the crossbar and another on between the upper side of the crossbar and stainless washer. Thanks for the information!

Just want to give a huge shoutout to Philip and the rest of the crew at LFD offroad. I had previously bought some of the crossbars to go on my factory rails, and a few weeks back I noticed they were having a sale, so I decided to pick up some of their roof rails to complete a 3/4 rack.

I mentioned to Philip that I'm a healthcare worker, currently taking care of COVID patients, and asked for non-contact pickup so that I could avoid exposing any of the guys down there.

Not only did they ship it to me for free, they also included a wind faring at no cost. Now that is customer service.

Can't say enough good things about the quality of the product as well as their customer service.

Thanks to Philip and the rest of the LFD crew, you've got yourselves a lifelong customer!

They are a great company to work with! Hope you and your team are staying safe. Radiology here.

SOLD Hey, friends! I've got a couple of these LFD Off-road cargo stop/light mounts that are going to prevent me from pulling in the garage with my upcoming lift.

They'll need to be refinished/painted, but otherwise perfect. $25 + shipping. I'm in southern NH.

Cheers!

Yeah, anti-seize should prevent gaulling.

They do have several pics of the different versions on their website. Click on each one, several come up. A few similar but also specific ones to each design.
