hello everyone!

heres my "elsa"
1995 4runner
22re
5 speed
SAS
4in lift
529 gears
35 baja mtz
crawler bumpers front,rear, and sliders

This has been my dream car/4runner since high school (last year of gen2, 22re,5 speed with SAS)
well….my dream finally became reality…
I got her about 2 months ago.



so far i have:

*clean, clean, cleaned!
*replaced all fluids and filters
*added much needed missing battery tie down
*added PIAA covers and remounted PIAA lights in new holes
*added missing windshield wiper nut covers
*added missing ashtray bracket and tray
*replaced broken cup holder
*added black aluminmum heater switch knobs
*replaced a window crank
*added red/chrome gorilla locking lug nuts and red valve stems
*added nice red grip to sliders and rear bumper
*new bulbs all around
*replaced a front corner and rear tail light
*tail light renew polished all plastic lenses on vehicle. (works amazing for the gauge cluster)
*replaced drivers sideview mirror
*resealed/rebuilt the front axle and added rock rings

*replaced front brake pads & rattle/safety tensioners (leaky front axle soaked one side making pull when breaking)
*momo match pedals (my favorite)
*retightened everything in the interior
*Led interior bulbs
*Led corner turn signal conversion (notched and fully sealed)

*installed a nice alarm with remote start/proximity sensors
*frenched the antenna so it sits hidden inside the fender under a plug
*plugged all holes from removal of plastic aftermarket fenders
*Breather tubes for diffs (rear breather routed hidden in the gas cap area)

*fixed no-dashlight issue by ungrounding the illumination wires behind the stereo and getting used rheostat/dimer


to do list:
engine reseal (PO had a newly rebuilt engine and did not brake in properly)
ARB lockers front and rear
4.70 dual case



I am someomne who appreciates detail.
I have OCD so everything on any vehicle i own is the best, tightest, and cleanest i can make it.. (usually tastefully custom:photo:)

I will be sharing all of elsa's upgrades and offloading adventures a lot,
as building/adding to my car is one of my passion and art forms.

Today I:
Scrubbed down my floor mats to remove the apple juice and coffee remnants of PO..No more food ate inside this gem!;)

...vacuumed the whole ride for the first time.

I removed the 90* galvanized mounts on my speaker box and replaced with a strap system. This way I can pull the bass faster and easier to have full cargo room.
The box is 100% more safe swell. (Fender washers and locknuts under)
While I was at it I rerouted and cleaned up the wiring to the amp..
I'm glad she came with a sound system that was not every expensive at all, yet still nice enough to want to protect.

I wanted a thick grill guard yet could only find a 4 bar…I mounted 2 of them to cover more area…
I just used a spacer to make up the layer difference.

Now I can comfortably toss a snowboard back there.
I sourced 6x9 covers and they are on the way.

WOW>> i just saw in the pics… I got to get out there and trim that carpet fuzz off the 6x9 mounts as well…..((neuritic tron immediately runs to his ride)) lol....:lightsaber:
those have got to be recovered soon...

i am so grateful for her.

I usually go through all my rides and clean them thoroughly one time.
I tend to then add my own dirt:bounce:
Since the pics i have wiped down all the interior surfaces of dirt aswell…

Received my 6x9 covers today and now were all protected in the back for longboards, snowboards, and all outdoor gear. They happened to be the only pair i found on ebay and they match the style of the fronts.

Finally today i got around to what i was hesitating to do because its new to me.
I got the oem missing window moulding and some 3m window weld and went to it! The window moulding came with 3 side clips and a corner clip.
I razor knifed out each section of where the clip would need room to sit flush, cleaned it well and then filled it in with window weld after a nice fitting.
The pic is only stage one of cleaning, I got too into it once i really got going to take pics.

3m auto masking tape to hold it down!

Then elsa decided that the direct sunlight was a bit warm for curing so she snuggled up under her favorite tree.:yawn:

That is a good looking and clean 4runner. I cant wait to get my SAS and 4.3 swap done so I can start working on the looks of it. Right now its dirty from just sitting and the inside is full of parts lol.
 
rear wiper delete:
I decided i did not want a rear wiper.
It is just something extra for me to catch on a low branch.(i go under low trees and through brush a lot.)
I wanted to delete the whole system yet still be able to hook it all up some day in the future if i wanted…unchanged.
I tried to just unplug the motor yet the window would not go up or down,
I decided not to jump anything and just to remove the arm and spindle.
The motor is still plugged in and will actuate and park on its own.

As for the washer..
I just went up front and unplugged the rear tube from the quick connect already there. I then went in back and blew out the extra washer fluid to the front.
plugged the tube in the rear with a round piece of chopstick and tucked it away.
I coiled up and tucked away the front tube up under the fender as well.
I then drilled a hole in the top of the washer reservoir for the rear washer tube to go into.


If i accidentally turn on the rear wiper the motor will run yet i catch it because i pay attention. (i don't turn it on by accident ever)
If i accidentally turn on the rear washer then it will only run and recycle into the tank.
Everything is all easily reversible when ever i want.

Finally,
At lunch i found 3 plugs that fit the open holes.

she's starting to look like a ladybug…..:spider:

 
real nice i like it i also have two 2nd gen's with a manual one is a 3.0 the other is in the process of getiing a small block chevy nice truck i like it
 


When i got the car i was handed the IFS driveline and told all that had to be done was lengthening. I later learned that the joints would not work at that steep of an angle. I sourced an 85 front driveline and had it extended/balanced.

Went out to test and was pleased..


added much needed manzinita scratches...


Today i finished the rear sway link lengthen project.

The sway bar use to touch the spring just at rest.
I will go back to the ramp tomorrow and check if i need to lengthen or shorten the links at all.
