I went ahead and did the "cheap free mod" today.

Removed the running boards. If you haven't done it or are nervous about doing it...it literally only took 10 minutes to do.

I like the look a lot. A little before and after picture.

I am getting the windows tinted on Tuesday to match the back and then most likely going to do a lift next. Still researching on what kind I would like to do.

On to the pictures...excuse them I just use my phone and then upload them to facebook.

Get some front mud gaurds and they will complete the look as they flow with the black fender flares. I paid $68 from my local stealer after they price matched some online vendors.

Also, trim the rears a little where they hang over. Pretty easy, I just unbolted mine and used a box knife to do the trimming.

Lemme know if you want a pick of either end.

Update: 4/20/10

Just had the front windows tinted to match the rear. Only $85 which may be a tad much but very professional shop and all that good warranty jazz.

Still debating on what lift I want to get.

You didn't spend too much. Where did you go? I had my Tundra tinted at HotSpot and paid twice as much than I did for the 4R and got a 10x better job. Nicer film, nicer install, and it matches perfectly with the OEM rear tint from the inside AND out.

I went to All-Pro Window tinting in Holly Springs. I have had a bunch of friends go there and all had positive reviews. The tint matches PERFECT! I was a little nervous that it would match on the inside but not on the inside which I have heard is common.

I am not 100% on what grade of tint was used but it was Llumar tint film.
