The Night Shift

Anybody else bored out of your skull on a graveyard shift? Up too late because you can't sleep? Just a night owl with nothing better to do after the bars close? This is our thread.

I'm so groggy right now. I didn't get to bed until 4pm, so I popped a couple benedryl to make sure I slept. I nearly slept through my alarm and now I can't wake up. I don't think I'll do that again.

I'm with you guys, netflix helps.

I just find myself adding more items to my 4runner wish list.

Haha, no doubt. I burned through everything Netflix had in about a year, and now I'm working on Amazon Prime's library.

And I spend way too much time surfing for mods and parts, you're right about that too.

Graveyards suck! I'll probably be working a 16 hour graveyard shift tomorrow so I better make sure I sleep enough today!

I'm with ya drew. Day off tomorrow, and still have the highschool bad habbits.

Tonight I've realized :
FJ Black TRD Rims are essential!
Arb lockers are the shiiit
I want my bumper body lift to arrive so i can install all this stuff.

Night shift checking in. Been here an hour, haven't had to do a dang thing yet.

Lets see how many episodes of Fringe I can cram into the next 7 hours.

I dunno, I'm never awake in the evening so I don't bother trying to keep up with new episodes. I'm about halfway through season one on Amazon.

It works out well, because I hate waiting a week to resolve whatever cliffhanger these shows decide to end the last episode with, I rapidly lose interest in that crap. Much better to be able to watch them back to back.

tell me about it. I just don't care for any shows but my dad and I started watching the last season... They made one episode and said "join us in three weeks for the finale" or something.

All these graveyard'ers and no work to be done (but getting paid)! I have to ask, what is it all of you do for work with these shifts? Security? Hospital?

Operations in the "scrubbers" area of a big powerplant. Scrubbers is where we take all the deadly gas and "scrub" it when it leaves the stack the epa is happy. In case anybody cared:violin:

When all the equipment is running like it is supposed I dont have much to do.

i been working the same job and shift for 6.8 years now, i start at 3:50pm and end at 3:00 am or 3:30am. now this month its all about working extra hours. 11:55am to 3:00am or later.

Not gonna like I'm pretty pissed now that I found out I don't have Nat Geo Wild and they're doing Big Cat Week. WTF. So now I'm gonna be up doing nothing again tonight.

Are you an AUO or Operator? I'm an AUO at a coal fired plant in Tennessee. We are in the priliminary stages of adding scrubbers to our facility.

I'm not even sure what an AUO is to be honest with you. I'm an operator solely in scrubbers (we are coal fired also). We have had scrubbers at this plant since it was built in 78. What kind of scrubbers are you guys installing? Wet or Dry? We have both and dry scrubbers blow! How big is your plant? We have 3 480mw units.

Good to see another power plant worker on this site!

Phone company. Somebody has to be at the switch, because every now and again there IS work, and lots of it. :)
