The rattle

So, my 99 has had a rattle coming from underneath since I bought it. This weekend I trimmed fenders, did the brakes, and replaced the drivers side cv shaft. After putting the work into it I drove it around and realized how much this rattle drives me crazy. I've always been irritated by it but now I hate it. I've searched for months, I can find the damn thing. It sounds like a chain or some kind of metal on metal. Any of you guys experienced this?

Where underneath it? Front, rear, what's it sound like? Clunk, grind, ect?

It sounds dead center. It sounds like a swinging chain. It doesnt sound like a grind or anything harmfull but maybe a rattle or something?

My skid plates rattle when I'm on rough roads/off road. Lets me know they're still there .

Check your sway bar bushings, check your lower and upper control arms. And look carefully at every ball joints. Also check your lugs make sure they all tight

If it's a short, buzzing rattle that happens at certain RPM (on mine, it's around 2k), and only in gear, it's probably the heat shields over the exhaust on the passenger side. Figuring out how to mute them has been on my to-do list for a while.
