The replacement

So about a week ago, my '99 T4R Limited was totaled. No need to go into the sordid details, but it was a pretty sad situation. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.

Been looking for a replacement ever since. Wanted a Limited again, but my family actually prefers cloth so ended up buying this 2000 SR5 4WD this morning:

Bosch halogen lamps on the front, hood scoop is cosmetic...

No running boards (yay!) and some nice Geolander HT-S tires...

127K on the odo, transmission rebuilt in Feb, shift-on-fly seems to work fine, so far haven't found any issues but I think it needs a new set of plugs. :bigok:

Yah, 93 2+2 NA... "A sheep in wolf's clothing."

haha nice

I see you're from Chapel Hill? I got a friend from there, and another in Cary...you must be surrounded by Long Islanders fleeing high prices/taxes haha
There's so many LIers moving into the Raleigh suburbs. They can make just as much, but live for half the price...not a bad deal, I'd say...

Chapel Hill and Raleigh are worlds apart. I had to go to Raleigh to pick up this truck and it was quite an experience. Any time I go over there I am blown away by the amount of traffic... Yuck! Been here since 1981 and have probably spent a total of 3 days in Raleigh.

Traffic? You think that's traffic? Do yourself a favor and if you ever come to Long Island, stay away from the Cross Island Parkway, The Cross Bronx, The Belt Parkway and the Long Island Expressway. That's real traffic hahaha

 I know, it's still pretty mild. I have been on the LI expressway a couple times, spent some time at Dayton T. Brown in Bohemia...

For kicks, here's the '99 Ltd...

I sold it to the body shop, they'll be putting it back on the road in a couple weeks...

Nice, hello from Jacksonville (camp Lejeune) i act live in Newport, but i am originally from Long Island NY myself. I decided to stay in NC after my 8years in the marines, and because people down here are more civil, and more respectful of others than people in NY. I also got my truck in Raleigh (capital BLVD)

I see you have a Highlander also and now you have a Highlander model 4Runner;maybe a first on this forum. :bluejump:
