So I made a little road trip Monday up to Cashmere Wa. Got a whole new 3rd member from Nitro Gears, and got it installed that night. Been slowly putting the miles on the 4runner again but I'm glad to be driving it again.

You can see in the pictures how all the ring bolts are trashed (the previous shop I paid to do my last R&P didn't use locktite and who knows if they even torqued them down or not, they were all finger tight, or should I say lose). The locker case is completely broken in two from the ring gear being lose of the locker and vibrating around as I drove. It never made any alarming noises or sounds that something was wrong... But it was and it ended up costing me a locker and gear set. Fortunately the old ring and pinion aren't too bad and can be salvaged for a trail spare, though I bet it's gonna be a loud gearset, but for a spare it will work.

Nothing new other than got the new diff in and broken-in. Oh I guess I did put a new muffler in it out of a v8 4runner, and it's nice and quiet once again. I'm so over the magnaflos on a v6 lol

Let me if/when you get down to the Central Oregon area. Would love to meet up for a trip of some kind!

Made a bar stop for the chainsaw. Earlier this year I found a perfect spot to hold the saw outside the 4runner. After an hour into the trip I noticed a potential slight issue that I didn't want to ignore. As I drove the vibrations and bumps allowed the bar of the saw to slide over and out of the fuel can rack thus putting some undesired leverage on the bar itself not something I wanted to subject my saw to. So I ordered up some ⅜ HDPE board. I cut it down and drilled and tapped two pieces together with 8 5mmx30mm machine screws into a long "L" shape. Now the bar can't slide out of the rack, and it's weight and pressure against the fuel cans keeps it from bouncing up and out -I keep it cable locked as well just in case it wants to walk away...

so after about 6 or so months of sitting, I fired it up the ol girl the other day and I have an interesting issue, it won't rev past 3800-4k RPMs, it just kinda stumbles to get there then bounces like it's hitting the rev limiter. no CEL, no other issues, starts up fine. wtf, anyone else have this happen randomly? it drove fine the last time I drove it.

Bad gas maybe?

Also are ya willing to sell off any interior parts of that parts truck ya got?

So I'm pretty sure my stumbling issue was a side effect of pulling the efi relay and leaving it out of the truck as a anti-theft measure... I have already found a different work around for this. Put the relay back in it, let it sit for like 6mo and fired it up a few weeks past and not a single misfire or dead spot. I even drove it to work and had zero issues.

Nope, that's why I bought the parts truck, I wanted the interior. My brother in-law wanted the engine and ECU. I wanted the interior and rear axle and some other chassis components. Sorry.
