the roof trim between the roof rack feet fell off

What is the name of that strip of rubber in between the roof rack towers?
Mine flew off the other day.

Lost mine going through a car wash some time ago. Didn't realize it till weeks later. Cost me $75 to replace.

Yeah thats it. Wonder if it even would matter if I didnt replace it. I just put a new rack up on top and when I bolted everything down I used some sealant.

I used a few dabs of rtv along the fillers length when I replaced mine. Check regularly to make sure their still there. 6 months going strong

Check around at a few savage yards for one, it's a bit steep price buying one new!!

I replaced both of mine, however, imo, they are just a cosmetic rubber piece that hides the track. You don't need them.

I figured something went in there when I was installing my cargo box but didn't care enough to look it up. Nobody is tall enough to see up there.

Felt that way too, until I looked at how much crud could get under the rack ends. I figure their predominately cosmetic...but I feel better having them in.

They fly out often. I realized I only had one, bought another one (they are pricey) then found it laying half out one day. I would recommend some sort of adhesive to hold them tacked in place but don't seal them in because water can still flow in that channel underneath them. They are nice to have to keep leaves/pine needles from packing up in that gutter though.

I bought on on eBay that matched the color of my silver '05 4Runner (gen 4) and it snapped on real nice and firmly.

alternate fill?

anyone ever tried to fill them with some sealant or something? im probably not going to fill it with RTV, sounds expensive, but could maybe fill it with something rather than $75 a side or whatever it is?
