The search begins

Spent the entire day canvassing Charlotte, couldn’t find what I was looking for. Each weekend moving forward will be expanding my search. I’m in the market for a 16 or newer SR5 with less than 50k miles, wouldn’t be mad at 3rd row seating either. Trying to keep it at 25-27k OTD. The fun is just beginning.

You are working too hard. Make the sales reps do the search for you. Try an online contact for dealers and hope you get an internet or fleet sales rep to respond. Let them know what you want, keep waving them off when they offer something different.

When they finally find what you want they may have to get it from another dealer for a transport cost. I got lucky and the dealer told me the name of another dealer who had one. He knew it was a risk for him and it was. We bought from the other one. Worth a try, we found our Sienna that way in the trim and color we wanted. I had ordered my T4 so skipped all the search hassle.

I was in the same boat as you. I was looking for a 2016 white SR5 Premium with 50K miles or less for $25K OTD. I called dealers, used autotrader, carfax, cars.com, craigslist and facebook. I found quite a few Limited's on dealer lots but the SR5's were hard to find in my price range. I ended up finding a 2015 SR5 Premium on facebook marketplace with 50,000 miles for $25K. The truck was a one owner, regularly serviced at the dealer, and came with the XP package. The only thing the truck needed were new tires and the seller adjusted the price $1K . I was in no hurry and willing to wait for the truck I wanted. My search lasted about 3 months before I pulled the trigger. Good luck with your search!

I think all SR5's come with 3rd row seating. At least the 2019 model I looked at did...before I bought my TRD OR.

Neither my 2018 nor 2020 did/does. And, in fact, none of the 4runners at my local dealership had the 3rd row (though they only had a cool 4 to choose from)

Auto Tempest shows several in the greater Charlotte area that meet your requirements.

When I went to buy an SR5 back in 2017 I had a hard time finding a 3rd row which was on my must-have list. The dealership had 10 SR5s, none of which had the 3rd row. They had to pull one from another lot 200 miles away.

I spent 4-5 months looking for my 2017 TRD Off Road Premium with KDSS with less than 20K miles on it but eventually found it right here in Atlanta. Keep at it and be patient, it'll come.
