After almost 14 Years and 180 thousand faithful trouble free amazing miles of awesomeness,
My beloved Millennium Silver 2000 5speed Highlander edition which my friends had dubbed the "silver legacy"
was killed by a drunk uninsured idiot on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge at 3:30 am this morning.:redbrick:
I almost went off the side of the bridge, luckily I am just scratched up a bit nothing serious.

That sucks big time. Glad you are ok. For every ending there's a new beginning and it could always have been worse...
 
So sorry for the loss of your truck, glad to hear that you are ok though.

What happened to the drunk driver that hit you?
 
RIP. That looked like one clean runner...

What exactly happens when you get in an accident and the other (generally an idiot) driver doesn't have insurance? Do you have full comp?

That sucks, especially with all the years with it. How you are not harmed in any fashion is beyond me.

Was the guy beside/in front/ behind you?

As someone who worked nights long ago I used to see two types of drunks behind the wheel of an auto: those who were 45 years old+ and driving 10mph below the speed limit and those 40 and younger driving 10+mph above the speed limit. If I would have been a cop I would have been in court five days a week.
 
This makes me sad. I'm glad you were (relatively) safe following the incident.

I'm gonna hug my Millennium Silver SR5 a little tighter tonight before I go into work.
 
DUDE, NO! That 4Runner is MESSED up, I'm glad you're all right! So sorry for your loss.

At the very least, we can chalk up another life saved to the 4Runners. We salute you, Silver Legacy! :angel:

Glad to see you made it out. BTW were you rear ended? Not much manuvering on a bridge right ... most people just drive in a straight line.
 
that's terrible. if you didn't have full coverage, hopefully you had uninsured motorist coverage. that coverage would cover your vehicle and your bodily injury and even pay for a rental car.
 
Such a shame. People work hard to have nice things and they take care if their shit just to have some careless ass ruin it. I was DDind a cherokee that i loved and had a lot of work into when it got hit and totalled in Nov. Hence why i just got the yota. Best of luck with the ins company.
 
At the first picture.... I was shocked to see someones beloved 4runner in that condition... 14 years and worry free 180 K miles.... RIP little truck.

Thankfully you were not injured, and it's sad to see your 4Runner in that kind of shape. I think that is the most mangled 4Runner I've ever seen anyone post in a "wrecked" thread. Good luck in your search for a new vehicle, and hopefully the other driver faces the full consequence of their actions.

You're lucky, thank god you were driving this truck--- it saved you from serious injury or worse! RIP to the beloved 4Runner, man, I feel for you, it looked like a beautiful truck! As long as the insurance company plays ball, look forward to your next 4Runner and make it even better! Good luck!
 
I hate the bay bridge... glad to hear you made it out alive, I feel like I know more than a dozen people who have gotten hit and totalled on that bridge...
