The Toyota Fortuner- 4R's Asian cousin

Was browsing and came across this- apparently in some Asian countries, including India (where I am originally from), the 4R is released as the Toyota Fortuner.

That first video was great. ATRAC was definitely hard at work.

JASONCZ- absolutely! It afforded the guy really good control over what the vehicle did. Those couple of times with the rear wheels raised high were cool!

I wasn't able to see one of the videos so I googled some. I came across one that appeared to be a Toyota sponsored 4wd Fortuner "boot camp". Does Toyota sponsor such events in the US? Oh, let's say for a 4Runner maybe.

In answer to atomicbob's question: Toyota used to have a Trail Team that sponsored various off-roading events (usually featuring FJ's and Tacoma's) and gave off-roading instructions and tips. Don't think they're around any more. Google Toyota Trail Teams and you should find some more info.

The FJCruiser forum should have info on the teams as well - the FJ was one of the vehicles that was used extensively by the Trail Teams. If I recall correctly, two Forum members were Trail Team drivers.

Kind of reminds me of a Highlander or a cross between Highlander & 4R

The back half looks a little like the older Lexus rx300's, or the 1st gen sequoias. Sick video!!

Seems to "sissy" for a 4runner. lol. It does remind me of a Highlander/Avalon cross-over interior. I think I prefer my beastly looking 4runner, thanks.

I could only see the second video with pics only. From what I saw it does have cues from the 1st Gen Rx300. While it's a good looking vehicle, I would still ask out the 4Runner if the two were standing next to each other in a bar!
