What engine is that? I assume that's not the original one...

yeah , not quite the original ..
I went with the 5VZFE + the supercharger (previously pictured)
I also used the complete wire harness from a /99 4Runner incorporating some of the goodies and adding some of my own ..

including a NEW DASH with the /99 guage cluster ... (in progress)

The wolverine was not a SUV type thing just a original hilux converted to 4wd. Like this...

actually , Yes it was ...

there WAS a wolverine conversion .. like a Trekker I have personally seen it .
from memory .. it was a Trekker like conversion , but like the Trailblazer it had the factory steel box with a fiberglass canopy . it was also a walkthrew , but had no "interior seating" .. just a "plush" covering ...

The problem is .. is there are NO factual pictures (I have found on the internet) , and the company is NOT very forthright on supplying any ?

but the Wolverine did exist at one time .. could "potentially" be the most ever elusive and desirable Toyota/conversion of all time !

I would PAY for even a picture !

Well thats probably why I have never heard of it. haha. Where did you see it? You should go wolverine hunting and shoot some pictures of the beast.

I was management at the largest truck dealer in Canada for 20 years (1980-2000) ... I saw all of these units back when they were brand new .. The dealer sold all 3 units , obviously in limited #'s . I have talked to my old "colleagues" hoping someone was "smart" enough to have taken a picture ..

sadly , they are all in the same group as me .. NO pictures
:(

I do remember a 4WD conversion of the HiLux being available before Toyota started making them in 79.

I might have more info on my home PC.

I have been searching for YEARS for a picture .. for the Wolverine "SUV" conversion for the 79-83's trucks .. I even have a pic of an /84 4X4 Wolverine conversion .. but NO 79-83's :(

even the company name or "paperwork" would add to the information collection .

Thanks

Some more of the Wolverine 4WD conversion. It used a Dana 30/35 axle combo and front mounted shackles (ala Jeep)
