The waiting is the hardest part (new wheels)

I bought an '02 a month or so ago and immediately jumped into the mod game.

Mod 1: New stereo -- Pioneer AVH-270BT. Love it.

Mod 2: New lights -- Went to HeadlightsNW in Gresham and had them do an HID projector retrofit (no pics yet) and replace the interior lights (white) and the dashboard lights (blue).

Mod 3: The biggie. New tires and wheels. I'm hoping for a good winter in the Pacific NW (not holding my breath) so I went with Blizzaks (265/70/16). For the wheels, I settled on the SCS F5 matte black, 16X8 with 4.5"bs. Now I just need them installed . . . which leads to a question.

I am taking it in to a mechanic to replace the fluids, change out the belts/water pump, new battery, etc., but the mechanic I'm using does not have road force balancing. It would be a lot easier to have him install the wheels/tires when he is doing the work. Is it worth the extra trip to have a different person who has road force balancing install the wheels?

First off great looking truck and welcome to the forum. Regarding the question on Road Force balancing, the best option would just be to ask your mechanic. If it's a smaller shop they may focus on more involved work then tires.

If you're already spending money and time with them to complete the general maintenance items, I would think that you will trust them on the wheels and tires as well. I would talk to them while you're there, some mechanics don't want to waste their time on wheel balancing and will straight up tell you they recommend other shops for that type of work.

Any pictures of the head unit installed? Looks like a clean setup.
