Thanks! It's coming along nicely... Next up is the brake upgrade. I've got Tundra Brembo rotors, 199mm calipers, Hawk pads, and SS lines ready to go in this weekend! :uzi::gun4:
 
Ditto on killing the chrome bumpers :artist:- you've convinced me to do that to my 96. Nice work in a short amount of time.
 
Tundra Brakes are in! The stopping power is night and day compared to the ****ty 4Runner brakes. This thing stops on a dime, and has absolutely no shudder or shake to it anymore! HIGHLY recommend this upgrade to anyone still running stock brakes.

Thanks! I'm trying to keep it on the cheap so far since my wedding is next week!:reddance: The brakes were the most expensive upgrade so far...


Next up is a few maintenance items, and maybe some TRD quarter panel decals... we'll see.
 
Next item on the checklist is done!

I made a custom Sub box for over the tire well in the rear. I didn't want it to take up a lot of space so I formed it over the "bump", and used a shallow mount 10" RF Sub, and a Kenwood bridged 2ch Amp. Came out pretty good for a 2-night job!

I'm going to need tires soon, and I want to go to 33s so I'm looking at lifts. I want to do this as economically as possible using springs (no spacers or coilovers). I've read through the lift sticky a million times, and have come up with the following setup:

Eibach Front Springs (3") - TOYTEC
OME 891s (3") - TOYTEC
ProComp 618053 (front)
ProComp 921513 (rear)
Front Shock Bushing/Washer Kit - TOYTEC
Front Top Plate Spacer Kit - TOYTEC
Front Diff Drop - TOYTEC


What are everyone's thoughts on that setup? I know Pro Comps aren't the greatest, but again, I'm looking to do it as cheap as I can.
 
If you use the Eibach front springs, you don't need the top plate spacer kit. That just adds more height that you don't need. A similar choice is the 883, it may be a little cheaper. And unless you are getting an aftermarket bumper or carry around a lot of weight in the back, don't get 891s, get 890s...same height, different spring rate.

Well - I do a bit of camping/shooting, and pack a few hundred pounds of gear back there. I figure for the same price (890 & 891) - I'd just go with the 891s to take the weight.
 
I got ya. The 890s will handle the weight when you do have it well, and a little more comfortable when you don't. I'm getting them and plan on towing a boat, and having all the camping gear. When unloaded those 891s will be harsh...just giving you a heads up.

Gotcha gotcha.... maybe I'll go with those then:reddance:

Any thoughts on the shocks?
 
Those are Ironman coils which are made for additional weight. They probably won't be as soft and flexible as the stock coils and might give you more height than you are looking for.

Argh! Bummer... that's kind of what I figured, but it was worth asking. I'm having a hell of a time finding LC coils:wtf:
 
I scored a set of TRD Ivan Stewart's this weekend from TLMAI. He gave me a great deal, and they're in MINT condition. I should have them on the truck tonight, but here's some teaser shots of them leaning up against my Runner:
