I really like mine but for the 21' you will have another 3' upfront if you want to rear door to open with hitting it.

I wanted the 18, but it wont fit my luggage, plus the 18 I found they wanted 475 for, and it looked a little beat up, and I found the 21 for $375!

A couple of technology related mods.....

We are big fans of the Ipad but the major downside remains the lack of external storage such as a SD card. While searching for a Wi-Fi Hard drive I found the Maxell AirStash Wireless Flash Drive to which I added a 64 GB SD Card. The Ipad, or any device, connects via its internal Wi-Fi. Three devices can stream 3 different movies. Photos, documents or presentations can be shared with up to 8 wireless devices. You can also copy files back and forth.

Battery life is said to be 7 hours but we keep in plugged in the glove box next to the VZ LTE Jetpack Hotspot for internet access on the road.

I'm always jealous of you guys with the video cameras mounted on the truck. A friend uses a GoPro on his bike for track days but it seemed too much for what I would use it for. I found the Veho VCC-005-MUVI-HD10 Muvi HD 1080p Mini Handsfree Camcorder with Remote Control and Wide Angle Lens for $ 140 on Amazon. Added a 32 GB card and waterproof case. Mounted to the Gobi via a ARKON CMP227 Motorcycle Handle Bar Mount (1/4 20 Screw Thread).

They claim 3 hours of continuous recording. It has no removable battery but it can be charged with a USB cord. The Veho MUVI VCC-A097-USBMUVI USB Cable lets it charge and record at the same time.

My favorite feature is the Remote Control from which you can start / stop recording or take pictures (5MP).

PowerFilm F15-3600 60W Foldable Solar Panel. Using their RA-9 Controller but may upgrade based on its performance. I don't think it would keep up with the ARB Fridge but should help topping off the batteries during extended stays. Its well made, very compact and was highly recommended by a friend who uses them to set up mobile FEMA command centers.

Foldable 60 W is pretty impressive though.

You will need to add them up but it looks like about 1/2 price of a go pro. The mount was something like 5 bucks!.

Video is 1080P but in playing around I think I may just stick with 720/60 as it too is very good and would save on memory space.

In August we took a few weeks to travel out West. 4865 total miles door to door with 1373 miles within Colorado alone. On the way out we went up to SE MN to visit a friend for some ATV riding, took a short 8 hour detour to see Mount Rushmore and then down to CO to tour the state - top to bottom - side to side.
