awesome ideas, i also have a BOB and survivalist type gear, and i didnt know that area you popped off and put your stuff in was even there, great idea.

i would also love to see better pictures of the CB set up, where are the dials/buttons/channel selections etc located exactly?

yeah deff not supposed to pop off, i pryed the hell out of that thing and broke 2 small pieces with the screws in them, but it still locks down fine. I fit some line, emergency light, chemlights, deoderant, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, q-tips, and a pack of wet wipes. not a lot, but cool little spot to shove some extra items if ever needed.

Watched the video on the CB, looks like what i am looking for, seems the major negative is the audio sounds low. How do you like yours so far?

deoderant? Did not even think of it!

CB sounds fine. I know some mentioned adding a speaker but to be honest it sounds just fine for me.

Rausch Creek

This weekend I joined a couple of Jeep friends at Rausch Creek to find out how capable a stock Limited was off road. I'm planning on removing much of the Limited skirts (Harper style) and putting on a set of TE rims with different tires so I was not too worried about how she looked at the end of day. To our complete amazement she did perfectly and even the mud flaps made it to the end of the trail. As a added bonus I discovered that the rear storage lid doubled very nicely as a dog bowl.

It was my 1st time this weekend and I did not know what to expect. I had thought the green trails would just be dirt roads but it was way more challenging than I thought. That said, if I could do it with mud flaps, air dam and factory running boards you will be fine. We never really went faster than maybe 5-10 mph and anytime there was a something I thought could not be driven over / around we stopped and spotted a way. Besides I was the only 4runner there so back up would be nice.

Honestly I was more worried about some of the rocks and hills we did. And I had no clue I got two wheels off the ground until I saw the pics my friend took.

Next trip I think will be in the spring but will let you know and will even post here so maybe more of us can go. It's not a good feeling being so alone in the mist of so many jeepsters.

I too tried the Stubby from CravenSpeed and found that the reception really sucked. I live in the woods about 1 hour north of Philly and when scanning picked up only 1 or 2 stations. While I rarely listen to the radio I did want better performance.

I went with Amazon.com: Bmw Z3 Z4 318 Black Carbon Fiber Retractable 4.5 - 8" Inch Antenna: Automotive

Even down it picked up many more stations than the Stubby. Up, very impressive! It came with a few adaptors - one of them fit perfectly.

When you say adapters, is there any wiring that has to take place or is it plug and play? Thanks in advance
