Things that would leak coolant?

94 3.0 is leaking coolant on the driver's side in the vicinity of the no. 2 spark plug and run down the driver's side of the bell housing. Its leaking bad, steady drip on the ground while running. Didn't notice it until driving a bit yesterday and by then the reservoir was almost empty. I can see coolant pooling around the oil sender unit. The T-stat housing and water pump area look dry. All hoses at the top of the engine are dry. Has to be something lower.

So, whats a list of things that may be leaking coolant over there? Can't find a FSM page that really shows any of it in any useful detail. How common would it be to have it leaking right out of the cylinder head? Thats where it looks like its coming from, but no HG symptoms.

I had the same thing happen about a week ago. I dont mean to worry you but it turned out to be my head.. It is in the shop right now getting a new one on it. It was getting unusually hot about a month before that but the gauge was reading normal. And then last week I pulled into the drive way and when I got out I saw that it had leaked and that it was not coming from the top antifreeze hose. I Parked it and then dropped it off at the shop and they said it was the head. I am not saying that thats what yours is but its an awful good chance bud..:mad:

Check the coolant bypass line that runs underneath the intake next to the fuel pressure regulator.

My hose rotted out and leaked out just enough coolant so that it pooled up a little bit and then ran off the back of the engine. Thought it was a head at first until I saw the leak from my bypass hose.

Im sure you breathed a sigh of relief.

Also check the hose that goes to the throttle body. That's where mine popped and I looked for a good hour till I found it.
