Things to haul with your 4runner....

My first towing experience, bought a 1989 Ford Probe GT.

Rented a u-haul tow dolly from Mission Viejo, drove to Palmdale and towed the Probe back. 225 miles round trip.

I managed to pull off 18MPG while towing that car at 60mph average... with a 2.7 liter 4 banger. Needless to say, I'll be towing again in the future.

About 9k worth of tractor/trailer. No trailer brakes, of course. Braking was the worst part, I think my booster is going out too. Overall not too bad, I had to gun it going up hill, but I never lost speed. Just kept a few car lengths in front of me to stop.

I have rear air shocks, which worked great towing the tractor to my house, but then somewhere on the way back, they lost all the air. Not sure what happened.

your nuts ! i wouldnt pull that with my runner if you paid me . at least get a trailer brake , just plain dangerous towing with out one .
funny part is your not sure what happened to your air shocks ? im going to guess and say you were way over weight

Yeah I think I'm good to tow my focus then... And I know it's not a third gen. sue me.

My most recent trip, all parts for my Focus of course. loaded it up with about 200lbs of tools as well. Total weight in the rear was probably 750-800lbs

I think I managed 17mpg on that one through canyon highway roads

my more impressive trip was in my Mazda though:

had an all iron chevy 350, 700r4 and an axle in the back of that. Managed 33mpg on that same trip too. Damn turbos. lol

Funny how? Yes I realize I was way overweight. But what exactly happened t my shocks is what I'm not sure about. Break an air line, air bag blew out?

a mastercraft is a sickkkkk boat. if i had one i would be doing a whole lot more wakeboarding, wakeskating, skiiing, scurfing. love getting behind a good wake on a surfboard.
