Think my tranny is going out?

There is a strange noise occassionally when I shift into or out of gear... It almost sounds like the spedo cable is going out but it is accompanied by a small klunk... Anyone have any ideas on what this may be?

Dirty gearbox maybe

A small klunk could be anything. A driveline problem like a u-joint or slip joint, a bad trans mount. A bad bushing anywhere.
