I have a Gibson catback exhaust on mine. It's not loud at low rpm but at high rpm its very noticeable. I went with a catback system to get the most refinement. I love it and you know its a V8 when you hear it.

I got the Borla catback, its the most expensive one (amazon had the best price when I got it), but I knew it would be a good product, it has a great tough sound that isn't loud at low RPM and doesn't drone at freeway speeds. You know its there when you get on it though, and it sounds great! I get tons of compliments on it. No regrets. Its the only one with dual outlets too 
Really easy to install too, took about half an hour, but we cut the old one off at the rear axle because after 100k miles those bolts were not coming off.

i just added a 18in magnaflow and it sounds pretty good, not a lot of drone, good sound not to loud and not quiet

Mine has 3 cats and 1 resonator in the system. GEEZ. That stuff quiets down the sound a lot. I wish it had just the two cats on the manifolds and that's all. Would be much better.
Otherwise I love my Dynomax VT. It's loud when you get on it, but when you are cruising it sounds stock. It was designed to work that way. Zero drone. I love it.

We went with full custom and I love the sound in idle and acceleration.
It really brings out the roar of the 4.7l.

Every time I see this rig I like it more and more!
On that note, NJShadow93's sounds great and if you have the coin I'd opt for the cat back.

go with borla they back million mile warranty!!!!!!!! youll never pay for an exhaust again if you register it online when you get it. ive had mine since 09 and i had one of the rubber hangers break i contacted them and they sent 2 new ones no questions asked. last year one of my tailpipes the baffle inside the tip broke at the weld and was making a rattling sound so i contacted them and emailed a video showing the propblem an they shipped out a whole new tailpipe assembly no questions asked! thats just my 2 cents....:bounce:

I did a K&N CAI at the same time as the Borla Cat back and I saw a big difference in throttle response, much more responsive. MPG did get better a little, maybe 1 or 2 mpg, but not enough to justify the purchase by itself.

We did snorkel w/high flow oilless filter and the custom cat-back exhaust above and I'm inclined to say there was performance increase. However it's hard to tell with all the added weight we've put on her!
