Thinking of trading 05 SE for 2011 SR5 ,But !!

Thinking of trading my 05 SE 4X4 W/80K for a new SR5, my 4R has Xreas, power rear hatch latch,remote fuel door, six disc CD changer, auto start,don't have to hold key,running boards, roof rack cross bars,cargo cover, mud guards.The 2011 has XM radio, USB,power leather heated seats and is bigger.They offered me $16k for mine and knocked off $3K off price of new 4R.What should I do ??

If it was me, I'd keep the tried and trusted 4th gen. IMHO Toyota bombed on the 5th gen styling.

I'd trade if the price came out to be within a few thousand, just for a newer car you could drive longer, in theory. Short of that, I'd keep what you have for sure.

If you're wanting a new vehicle, I'd find a low-mileage '08 or '09 and trade in for that.

Take it from someone that's been there and LEARNED the hard way...

I had a 2010 Sequoia!! All the goodies ...and HATED IT! I went back to an 08' Sport Edition V8. 5th gen's are an "aquired taste" im finding. The people i DO know that own one have never had a 4th gen, and therefore have nothing to compare it to.

Stick with the 4th gen. Maybe look for a 2009 (the final year they were made), with low miles and V8's.

I would agree that the 11 is an aquired taste. Talked to a couple people that they say they have grown on them. If it has the "features" that you want, probably good time to buy now. I see some near new 10s around here at the dealers.

I also was looking at a new 2011 CrewMax, should I trade the 4R on this, I am afraid if I do I might regret it.

x4 or 5 - I have never been a fan of leather and hate it in NC. Hot in summer and cold in winter, but very easy to keep clean. I don't like the look of the '11 either, but most vehicles grow on me over time. But the silver trim on the front, rear and roof racks of the early 4th gen T4R's never did, nor will.

And you can do a killer stereo upgrade that will be cheaper and better than OEM Toyota's top of the line.
